Mango Daiquiri Tour

Ellis’s Favorite Tour of Puerto Rico
Orange Mango Dacquiri on the beach

If you only have time for one big adventure around Puerto Rico, this might be the one.

This is my favorite tour, and it’s a full day of exploring some of the island’s most beautiful scenery. We’ll travel along Puerto Rico’s stunning east and south coasts, through mountain towns, and into places most visitors never get the chance to see.

Along the way, you’ll experience spectacular ocean views, rainforest swimming spots, great local food, and of course — the famous fresh mango daiquiri that gives this tour its name.

The Journey

We begin by heading down Puerto Rico’s east coast, driving high above the Caribbean Sea with incredible coastal views along the way. It’s one of the most scenic drives on the island.

Our route eventually brings us to the quiet coastal town of Maunabo, where we stop at the historic Punta Tuna Lighthouse inside the beautiful Punta Tuna Nature Reserve. The views here are spectacular.

From there, we head to a special waterfront spot — Restaurante Tranquilidad — where the famous Mango Daiquiri is made. On lucky days, visitors may even spot a manatee swimming.

This isn’t just any daiquiri. It’s made 100% from fresh mangoes, blended into one of the most refreshing drinks you’ll ever try. If you visit often enough, you’ll meet Ana, the friendly owner of the bar, who has become something of a legend with visitors on this tour.

After our stop by the water, we head inland to the rainforest and the beautiful natural swimming spot Charco Azul, where you can cool off in the clear blue mountain pool surrounded by tropical forest.

From there, the journey continues into the mountains of the Sierra de Cayey, eventually arriving in the famous food destination of Guavate, home of the legendary Ruta del Lechón.

Here you’ll find some of the best slow-roasted pork in Puerto Rico, cooked the traditional way on spits over open fires. I’ll take you to a restaurant made famous by Andrew Zimmern — his photo is even hanging on the wall.

On weekends, the atmosphere comes alive with music, dancing, and live salsa bands.

After a full day exploring the island, we make our way back to your hotel.

It’s a long day, but it’s one you’ll never forget.

Book Your Tour

This is my favorite tour because it shows visitors so many different sides of Puerto Rico in a single day — the coast, the rainforest, the mountains, and some of the best local food on the island.

If you have the time for a full day of exploring, I’d love to show you around.

Give me a call or send a message, and we’ll set up your tour.

Hope to see you on the road.
