What You'll Experience

No visit to Puerto Rico is complete without seeing El Yunque National Forest, one of the island’s most beautiful and historic natural treasures.

El Yunque is the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest system, and it’s one of the most visited places on the island for good reason. Towering trees, waterfalls, mountain views, and the sounds of coquí tree frogs make this a place visitors never forget.

On this tour, I’ll take you through the most beautiful areas of the forest while sharing a little history and a few stories along the way.

Our first stop is La Coca Falls, one of the most photographed waterfalls in Puerto Rico. The water cascades down smooth rock right alongside the road, making it a perfect introduction to the rainforest.

From there, we continue up the mountain to Yokahú Tower, where you can climb to the top for a spectacular panoramic view of the rainforest and the coastline beyond.

Along the way, we’ll travel one of my favorite stretches of road — what I like to call “Jurassic Drive.” The dense jungle, towering trees, and winding mountain road make you feel like you’ve stepped into another world.

After exploring the rainforest, I’ll take you to a local swimming spot where you can cool off in the water and even feed the fish if conditions allow.

On the way back to San Juan, we take the scenic beach road and stop for lunch at a local spot to round out the day.

I’ve been guiding visitors through Puerto Rico for more than 15 years, and El Yunque is always one of the highlights for people visiting the island.

Every tour is a little different depending on the day, the weather, and what you’d like to see — and that’s part of the fun.

If you’d like to explore the rainforest and see why this place is so special, I’d be happy to show you around.

Give me a call or send a message, and we’ll set up your tour.

Hope to see you in the rainforest.
